Would you have killed for this job at 24?

That's how Wispr Flow CEO Tanay Kothari introduced his Chief of Staff hiring post.
He wasn't looking for someone to stay in the role forever. He wanted a future founder with high EQ, curiosity, and the ability to build alongside him.
The line that got everyone's attention?
"The job is 16 hours a day."
The internet quickly split.
Some called it:
"Burnout maxxing."
"Talent doesn't sleep on the factory floor. Desperation does."
"No salary range, but wants a video first?"
Others saw it differently.
"This is founder apprenticeship."
"If you're building a world-class company, these are founder hours."
"At least he's transparent."
My take
I don't think every Founder's Office role should expect 16-hour workdays.
But I also don't think every opportunity should be judged by a 9-to-5 mindset.
Founder's Office isn't a role I'd want to do forever. It's a role I'd consider to learn how great companies are built before building something of my own.
Would I do it for every founder? No.
Would I do it for the right founder, mission, and learning? Probably yes.
Some people are driven by balance. Others are driven by building. Neither is wrong.
Would you apply for this role?
